Described by JazzTimes as a “formidable bassist and composer,” Petros Klampanis grew up in Greece, surrounded by the confluence of Mediterranean and Balkan folk music.
He studied classical and jazz music in Athens, Amsterdam and New York before he emerged in the NYC jazz scene. In New York City, Klampanis has performed alongside some of the city’s renowned jazz musicians.
His album Minor Dispute was selected as one of the best Jazz records in 2015 by the American National Public Radio NPR, while his recent album Chroma has received exceptional reviews on international media.
