dissonArt ensemble

The dissonArt ensemble was founded in early 2005 in Thessaloniki aiming to the spreading of avant-garde music. In its artistic course so far, the dissonArt ensemble has appeared at festivals such as Mixtur (Barcelona), KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen (Hannover), KLANG (Copenhagen), Salzburg Biennale, Klangspuren (Innsbruck), MICO Festival (Bologna), Milano incontra la Grecia (Milan), 4020.Mehr als Musik (Leeds), Forum Wallis (Leuk, Switzerland), the Athens Festival and in halls such as WDR in Cologne, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Athens Concert Hall, Onassis Cultural Centre, the Brucknerhaus in Leeds, the Minoritensaal in Graz, the Kolumba Museum in Cologne and others.

It has collaborated with composers such as Beat Furrer, George Apergis, Giorgos Koumentakis, Manos Tsangaris, Agostino Di Scipio, Morris Rosenzweig and it has released a CD in co-production with WDR and Dissonance Records. It has also recorded for Naxos and ORF (Austrian Radio).

Particularly honouring was the selection of dissonArt from the Darmstadt International Musical Courses festival (2012) among 35 ensembles of contemporary music. In June 2016 dissonArt held the opening concert of the Alternative Stage of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
