Maria Melachrinou graduated from the Music School of Pallini. She studied Developmental Psychology (Rouen, France) where she was trained in Music Therapy, in the Education of Blind and Deaf Children and specialised in Special Education. She studied tambura under Periklis Papapetropoulos, Mehmet Erenler and Erdal Erzincan. She has taken oud lessons under Antonis Apergis, Necati Çelik and Yurdal Tokcan, studied Counterpoint under Dimitris Sykias, as well as Fugue under Yiannis Metallinos and Byzantine Music under Giannis Arvanitis, while she teaches at the Music School of Pallini. She has participated in concerts and record productions in Greece and abroad.
