A cultural initiative under such circumstances [...] is very important, and I hope it will be as successful as it deserves to be.” 🙏🏻We are grateful to Mikis Theodorakis for his words of support for the idea that began to take shape back in 2016. The nine summers that have passed since then, with their joys and difficulties, have enriched us. 🎥The video installation “With Mikis on the road” which focuses on the documentary Traveling with Mikis by Asteris Koutoulas, awaits us until 9 p.m. at Theodorakis’ house in Chora, to welcome us into the universe of the great composer, who was born in Chios 100 years ago today. ‼️Remember! Tomorrow, July 30, the installation will be moved to the Homerion Cultural Center of the Municipality of Chios (9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m.). 📜«Σε μια εποχή όπως η σημερινή, ο Πολιτισμός είναι ίσως η μόνη μας ελπίδα. Μια πολιτιστική πρωτοβουλία κάτω από τέτοιες συνθήκες [...] είναι πολύ σημαντική και εύχομαι να έχει την επιτυχία που αξίζει». 🙏🏻Είμαστε ευγνώμονες στον Μίκη Θεοδωράκη για τα λόγια στήριξης στην ιδέα που άρχιζε να παίρνει μορφή το μακρινό 2016. Τα 9 καλοκαίρια που κύλησαν από τότε, μέσα από χαρές και δυσκολίες, μας μέστωσαν. 🎥H βίντεο εγκατάσταση “Ταξιδεύοντας με τον Μίκη”, που έχει στο επίκεντρό της το ομότιτλο ντοκιμαντέρ του Αστέρη Κούτουλα, μας περιμένει μέχρι τις 21.00 στο σπίτι του Θεοδωράκη στη Χώρα, για να μας καλωσορίσει στο σύμπαν του μεγάλου μουσουργού, που γεννήθηκε στη Χίο πριν από 100 χρόνια, σαν σήμερα. ‼️Θυμηθείτε! Αύριο, 30 Ιουλίου, η εγκατάσταση μεταφέρεται στο Ομήρειο Πνευματικό Κέντρο Δήμου Χίου (9:00–13:00 & 17:30–21:00).

🌊🎶With a celebration dedicated to the sea an 🌊🎶With a celebration dedicated to the sea and music we welcomed Captain Loukas to Volissos! On Thursday, July 24, as the sun was setting, the Pelago, a sailing boat that plows the seas from Greece to Italy and France every year , using 100% “green” energy (wind and solar), made its long-awaited entrance into the port of Limnia, Volissos. “The most beautiful welcome I’ve ever had,” said Captain Loukas Gourtsoyannis about the musical welcome reserved for him by #CMF as part of its collaboration with Seal Greece and its campaign for the precious Mediterranean monk seal Monachus Monachus. 🦭 For us at the #CMF, whose actions and corporate social responsibility focus on protecting our natural heritage, these words from a well-traveled man who puts his ecological conscience into practice were a great honour. And his imaginative sea stories were just as enjoyable! We would like to thank Giorgos Voreas-Melas and the “Astrageri” collective for accompanying the reception with music, song, and dance! 🪕 🌅Με μια γιορτή αφιερωμένη στη θάλασσα και τη μουσική υποδεχτήκαμε τον καπετάν-Λουκά στη Βολισσό! Την Πέμπτη 24 Ιουλίου, την ώρα που έπεφτε ο ήλιος, το Pelago, ένα ιστιοφόρο που κάθε χρόνο οργώνει τις θάλασσες από την Ελλάδα μέχρι την Ιταλία και τη Γαλλία, καταναλώνοντας 100% “πράσινη” ενέργεια (αιολική και ηλιακή), έκανε την πολυαναμενόμενη είσοδό του στα Λιμνιά της Βολισσού. 🤍“Η πιο όμορφη υποδοχή που είχα μέχρι σήμερα”, είπε ο καπετάν Λουκάς Γκουρτσογιάννης για το μουσικό καλωσόρισμα που του επιφύλασσε το #CMF στο πλαίσιο της συνεργασίας του με την Seal Greece και της καμπάνιας της για την πολύτιμη μεσογειακή φώκια Monachus Monachus. Για εμάς στο Μουσικό Φεστιβάλ Χίου, που έχουμε στο επίκεντρο των δράσεων και της εταιρικής κοινωνικής ευθύνης μας την προστασία της φυσικής κληρονομιάς, τα λόγια αυτά από έναν άνθρωπο πολυταξιδεμένο, που κάνει πράξη την οικολογική του συνείδηση, ήταν μεγάλη τιμή. Και εξίσου μεγάλη απόλαυση, οι ευφάνταστες θαλασσινές ιστορίες του! Ευχαριστούμε τους Γιώργο Βορέα-Μελά και την κολεκτίβα “Αστραγέρι” που συνόδεψαν την υποδοχή με μουσική, τραγούδι και χορό! #chiosmusicfestival2025
