Michalis Pilavas

He was born in Chios in 1972. He studied History and Archaeology at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. At the age of 11 he began studying the piano at the branch of the National Conservatory in Chios. He continued his musical studies at the Athens Conservatoire, where he received a degree in piano in 1995 and a degree in harmony in 1997. In 2000 he was appointed a language teacher in Secondary Education, where he works to this day. From 1998 to 2008 he was a member of the Chios Choir and from 2000 to 2006 he conducted the children’s choir. In 2012 he completed his postgraduate studies at the Hellenic Open University in the field of “Cultural Organisations Management”. He has attended seminars in Greece and abroad, on children’s choir conduction and conducts the children’s choir of the Chios Music School.
