PHILHARMONIC STRING QUARTET

DISTINGUISHED MEMBERS OF THE BERLINER PHILHARMONIKER PERFORM WORKS BY MOZART, SCHUBERT & DVOŘÁK

TUE 18 FEB, 20:00

Goethe-Institut Athen

Following in the footsteps of the Berliner Philharmoniker’s ensembles, three of its distinguished members, Dorian Xhoxhi (violin), Helena Berg (violin) and Martin von der Nahmer (viola), have been collaborating with renowned soloist Christoph Heesch (cello) since 2018 to create chamber music of the highest level.

Cosmopolitan, versatile and passionate about music, the Philharmonisches Streichquartett captivates audiences from the first note. They have all been distinguished in top competitions and have extensive experience in various chamber music groups. The String Quartet is an opportunity for them to make their own musical mark. Still virtuosos, they feel less tied to a particular style and follow the motto of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: “…because we like to converse with all the masters –old and modern alike”.

At the invitation of the Chios Music Festival, they will be performing top works by Mozart, Schubert and Dvořák in two musical evenings in Athens and Chios.
