George Voreas-Melas and the Astrageri Ensemble music and dance collective, consisting of the instructors from the annual seminar of folk (traditional) music “The Mistral of July”, held in Volissos from 25 to 30 July, meet at the Mastic Museum of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation in Pyrgi. They will treat the audience to an evening of rhythms and melodies, initiating a musical journey from Chios to the coast of Asia Minor, through Cappadocia and Thrace, and all the way to the Bosporus.
In the first part, the musicians will present new compositions inspired by modal music from Greece and the East while, in the second part, a group of dancers, led by Dimitris Gianniodis and Sofia Politi, will bring traditional songs and dances to life.
Admission is free, reservation required, by phone at (+30) 22710 72212.
