Concerts with the Berlin State and Cathedral Choir performing works by Schütz, Bach, Mendelssohn, Rheinberger
In Friday’s concert, the Berlin State and Cathedral Choir will be joined by the Chios Music School Choir
The Berlin State and Cathedral Choir is the oldest musical institution of the city. Since its foundation in 1465, it has consistently served Western church music, from the Middle Ages to the present day. In the two concerts that it will present as part of the autumn season of the Chios Music Festival, it will perform works of church music by composers such as Felix Mendelssohn and Johann Sebastian Bach, whose work marks the peak and the end of the Baroque musical era. All works will be performed a cappella.
