Traditional music concert

On the occasion of the bicentennial of the Greek Revolution, the Festival begins with a concert by Katerina Papadopoulou, with a focus on the impact of the Revolution on the oral tradition and its emergence as a means of intercultural dialogue. Musical snapshots, songs narrating stories –sometimes real and sometimes intertwined with primeval myths– about the fortitude of the anonymous Greek and the daily battles for freedom, travel through the centuries, thanks to the disarming power of music, and have left their mark on the musical map of the Aegean.
