A place to belong

The music group “The Ukuleles” was formed as part of the “With a Ukulele” workshop at the Chios Music Festival, during its winter edition in 2025. Since then, its members have continued to meet as an independent music group, where young and old alike sing and play the ukulele. 

This summer, “The Ukuleles” collaborate with the Girls’ Choir of the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin, as part of the Festival’s Community Music Programme.

The concert will take place in the courtyard of the Chios Mastic Museum, at Rachi in Pyrgi, which is part of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation’s Network of Technological Thematic Museums. Musicians of all ages and from a variety of cultural backgrounds will share their imagination and enthusiasm with the audience. The programme they are presenting highlights the fact that music is a universal language of communication and coexistence. A concert dedicated to hope, solidarity and a sense of belonging brings together songs from different traditions and works by contemporary and classical composers.
